How orders are prepared for dispatch
Once your order is confirmed, our team checks the stock, packs the items securely and matches any kit components before handing the parcel to the courier. If you are ordering mixed items, such as hand tools, accessory packs and starter kit items, we make sure the order lines are grouped correctly so nothing is left out.
Orders placed before the daily cut-off are usually prepared for dispatch on the same working day, provided payment has cleared and the items are in stock. If something needs a final check, we will flag it before collection so there are no surprises later on.
- Stock checked and picked in Pinetown
- Items packed for transit and labelled clearly
- Courier handover arranged once payment clears
- Tracking details shared when available
Courier timelines you can expect
Delivery time depends on your location, courier routing and the size of the parcel. Main centres are usually quicker, while outlying areas and regional towns can take a bit longer. In Durban and nearby suburbs, parcels often move faster because the handover stays within the local network first.
As a guide, most metro deliveries take 1 to 3 working days after dispatch. Other areas can take 2 to 5 working days, sometimes a little longer during busy periods, public holidays or weather interruptions. If you are ordering for a job with a deadline, please allow extra time rather than cutting it fine.
- Durban metro: often 1 to 3 working days after dispatch
- Major South African centres: usually 2 to 4 working days
- Regional or remote areas: allow 3 to 5 working days or more
- Busy periods and coastal weather can add delay
Local delivery in Pinetown and surrounding areas
For customers in Pinetown, New Germany, Westmead, Hillcrest, Durban North and Umhlanga, delivery planning is often more straightforward because these areas are well served by local courier routes. That said, access, building security and site receiving times still matter. If your workshop is in an industrial area, please make sure someone is available to sign for the parcel.
We also work with trade customers who need deliveries timed around shift changes or receiving hours. If you have loading bay restrictions, gate access issues or municipal site rules, let us know before dispatch so we can note it on the booking. It helps avoid the parcel sitting at a depot when it should already be on site.
- Pinetown and nearby industrial areas often move faster
- Shop or site receiving times should be shared upfront
- Security gates and loading bays can affect handover
- Local deliveries still need a full street address and contact number
What happens if an item is out of stock
If one item in your order is not available, we will contact you before dispatch with the options. In many cases we can split the order, suggest a matching alternative or hold the order until the missing item arrives. This is especially useful when you are building a starter kit and need the right mix of accessories and replacement parts.
We do not like sending half a solution where the missing item will block the job. If there is a delay, we will tell you plainly so you can decide whether to proceed, swap the line or wait for the full order. That way your workshop plan stays on track and you are not left guessing.
How to track a courier parcel
Once your parcel leaves Pinetown, we will share the relevant delivery details by email or message where available. You can then follow the parcel movement with the courier and keep an eye on expected arrival. If the status looks stuck, give it a bit of time first because scan updates can lag behind the actual truck movement.
If there has been no movement for longer than expected, send your order number to orders@jameson.co.za and we will check the booking. Please include the suburb or town, since that helps us confirm whether the delay is at collection, in transit or at the delivery branch.
- Keep your order number close by
- Check that the delivery address is complete
- Watch for missed call or SMS notices from the courier
- Email orders@jameson.co.za if the parcel seems delayed
Receiving deliveries at workshops and job sites
For trade sites, the best deliveries are the ones that can be received without delay. Make sure the person signing has the right name, contact number and access instructions. If your workshop runs during load-shedding, it is worth keeping a backup contact phone charged so the courier can still reach someone at the gate or reception.
We also recommend checking parcel condition as soon as it arrives. If the outer packaging is damaged, note it with the courier and report it to us on the same day. That makes claims and follow-up simpler. Small delay now is better than discovering a missing accessory when the job is already underway.
